The CodeVisionAVR V2053 is a development system for 8-bit AVR microcontrollers with a built-in boot loader, editor and debugger. It runs on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux computers. The system consists of a program editor, a compiler to produce object code for programming an AVR chip in various configurations (watchdog timer, clocked sequential fetches from an external source such as the computer) and the integrated boot loader which allows user programs to be loaded via USB or RS232/USART serial link without using external programmer or special setup. The CodeVisionAVR V2053 comes preloaded with many examples and tutorials to help new users get started with their first projects. The debugger supports setting breakpoints and single stepping through the code. The system comes with many examples preloaded, which can be modified to suit your needs. Each project is stored separately in an individual folder, which contains all the source code, compiled objects and any additional files required for testing or debugging. Non-object files are stored in the "source" folder. The compiler also supports producing binary files for direct upload to the microcontroller's memory via USB or serial port connection without having to compile an object file first (although objects can be generated during or after programming). Precompiled binaries are available in the "bin/avr" directory. A list of the programming configurations and supported chips is displayed when you open a new project. The compiler supports: The debugger offers: The primary advantages of the CodeVisionAVR system are its Windows and Linux support and its built-in boot loader. The system's generated programs can be burned to an AVR chip using any USB or serial programmer. Categories: Compilers, Debuggers, AVR Development Tools, avr-gcc Categories: Compilers, Debuggers, AVR Development Tools, avr-gcc The installation file is also available for download at https://www.codetrails. com/downloads.html Unable to build avr-gcc due to missing gcc - some required libraries are missing on my 64 bit Ubuntu machine. Even if I installed the 64 bit versions of these libraries, it wouldn't help because Ubuntu hardcodes some path variables (and this is where gcc is located). The CodeVisionAVR IDE can be used without an internet connection. All the necessary files are contained within the installation directory, so all you need to do is unpack them on your computer and run the IDE. It will automatically download all the latest updates from the Internet. 1. http://www.codetrails. com/downloads/avr-gcc-3.4.2-win32.exe 2. http://www.codetrails.com/downloads/avr-gcc-3.4.2-linux32.tar The executable file (avrdude) is available at: https://www.codetrails. cfa1e77820
